LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE, SERIES 1 & 2,
PLAYBACK-UNIVERSAL (12)
"...what a Jem this is.."

After a long time of waiting someone has finally started to release Last of the Summer Wine again and especially on to DVD as well as video.

After some searching in my local shops I have managed to come across a copy on DVD. The DVD is released as one complete box-set of 4 DVD's covering the first two series of Last of the Summer Wine. This covers the Blamire years of the series and there are a total of 13 episodes on the DVD and what a jem this is.

The DVD helps to bring a new enhancement to the series, the clarity of the DVD's are breathtaking for a series which is around 30 years old. It helps to bring the actors and the scenery around Holmfirth into a new dimension.

Covering the Blamire years it takes us back to the characters' early years and in some ways the overlooked years of the series. Scenes like the canoe expedition and outfits they wear, to Blamire, Compo and Clegg trying to sell Shiny Glow polish will live on in this new DVD form for years to come.

And here's hoping Playback go onto release further episodes of this wonderful comedy on DVD and Video which the whole family can enjoy.
