Over fifteen hundred people attended the latest previews when they were shown at the Leatherhead Theatre this weekend (Jan 20/21, 2007). The enthusiastic audience were treated to six episodes from the latest series which should reach the screens this spring. Producer/Director Alan J.W Bell was introduced by Mike Smith from Leatherhead Theatre who set the evening off by introducing the show. Entertained by Robert Fyfe as host together with Jean Fergusson the company this time included Peter Sallis, Frank Thornton, Stephen Lewis and Burt Kwouk. The programmes look wonderful in the new format of High Definition using the new Viper camera that gives an almost three dimensional aspect to the show and makes the amazing Yorkshire scenery come to life. All six programmes are of a very high standard but my personal favourite is the Crowcroft Challenge a very visually funny episode in which all the cast play an active part but you can make up your own minds about that when the series is transmitted later this year. Below is a selection of images from the preview
- more will be added later in the week - please keep checking your
Summer Wine site.
