SITE UPDATES SUSPENDED FOR SUMMER |
June 2009: We are sorry to announce we are
unable to respond to any further email enquiries from fans and
potential visitors over the Summer period due to limited resources
and funding (see appeal below). It is likely that the site
will only have a few updates over the same period. However, we
hope to be back in the Autumn if a new sponsor can be found.
The rest of the site will be left intact for readers to explore the
links etc. Regular readers will know that the site has only
had a few updates over the past few months, following the loss of
one of the sponsors and a part-time helper. We hope to be back very
soon.

sPONSOR/ADVERTISER URGENTLY
SOUGHT |
You have probably noticed lack of updates to the
site over the past few months. This is due to the loss of our
part-time helper who assisted with the updating of the site, and
also replying to fan-mail. Despite local help from advertisers which
pays for the hosting costs etc, we urgently need a sponsor or
advertiser prepared to invest £1000 in the site over the next 12
months. This will enable us to start regularly updating the site,
and assisting Summer Wine fans via email. In return, your name and
adverts will appear at the top of each page. The site used to
benefit from an American-based sponsor several years ago, and this
backing enabled us to develop the site considerably. If you can
help, please email
summerwinetv@yahoo.com.
Without your help, the Summer Wine site might have to be
redeveloped as a static site with just a series of archived photos
and stories, but with no news or updates from the fans.

spare the time to venture southwards for one of these enjoyable
occasions, 'the former Mrs Fernley' wouldn't let me!!" Mike now

Lancashire and would really like to meet his

GLORIOUS SUMMER WINE AUDIO INTERVIEWS |
|

Freelance
reporter Mike Wallbank conducting another radio interview with the
Summer Wine stars in Holmfirth. |
You're not going to believe these! Regular fans to the Summer Wine
site will remember we tested a couple of "vintage" audio interviews
with Compo and Cleggy a year or two back, which proved so popular
that the resulting downloads nearly caused the SW site to crash!
Well now - in an exciting link-up between Summer Wine Online and
freelance reporter Mike Wallbank - we have extended the range of
audio interviews for you to download and enjoy this summer.
Thora Hird (Edie), Gordon Wharmby (Wesley), Stephen Lewis (Smiler)
and show producer Alan JW Bell are among the fantastic audios lined up. So
pour yourself a cuppa, pull up a chair and sit back and enjoy the
rich and distinctive voices of Compo and Clegg and other
famous characters from the series. Many
thanks to Mike (pictured above) - well known in the Holmfirth area,
having worked on the Express and Chronicle newspaper for many years
- for his tremendous enthusiasm and dedication to getting these
tapes online for our fans, across the globe, to enjoy.
