Summer Wine On-line

Welcome to the official web site of the Summer Wine Appreciation Society, in partnership with Holmfirth Web. This is our tribute to the world's longest-running TV comedy series which is filmed in the Holme Valley, and surrounding villages.

The Changing Face of Rural Fernley...

I was born in 1968 in Southport on the other side of the Pennines, and first started watching Summer Wine regularly
in the late seventies. I first visited Holmfirth in 1988 and have been a regular visitor since.  I was first invited over to
watch the filming of 'Ordeal by Trousers' by Juliette Kaplan. Two years later I persuaded Bill to become patron of a
charity I worked for and interviewed him on location during the filming of 'Once in a Moonlit Junkyard'.

Over the years I have met all the stars, attended both celebration dinners, joined the committee of the Summer Wine
Appreciation Society, appeared as a contestant answering Summer Wine questions on Goldmaster, appeared in the
background in a number of Summer Wine episodes, and  have now joined the team of Summer Wine On Line. My
eldest son William (5) has been over to Holmfirth for the booksigning a number of years ago where he sat on
Gordon's knee signing books and met Tom and Sarah.

I have three adorable children, William, Alistair and Summer, and currently work for a local authority as admin
officer. I look forward to working with Patrick and Pat on this excellent website.
