History in the making - a  scene from the very first episode of
Last of the Summer Wine in 1973.

Compo, Clegg and Blamire meeting in Sid's Cafe for an impromptu  sing-song in 1975

Who set up that bike in Sid's Cafe?  From the 1975 "Forked Lightning"

Off on an epic adventure through the Holme Valley - and just look at those swimming costumes!
From the 1974 "Ballad for wind Instruments and Canoe"

Handy place for a sofa? From the famous "Loxley Lozenge" where the runaway sofa came to rest to witness real life Holmfirth artist Ashley Jackson completing one of his "masterpieces" of the Holme Valley.

Dodworth Band outside Netherthong Methodist Church.
Here's one for the fans - can anyone name  this episode?
In one of the scenes from this programme, Compo demonstrates his skateboarding skills by nearly colliding with the band. The band were booked by the BBC because they were the only one available for a weekday performance.

What's in that matchbox? LOTSW's first full length film for Christmas 1983
The actual photo was Bill's all time favourite, he liked this because it sported the cheeky Compo look, the shocked Nora and the mystey of the famous matchbox.
For some ideas from fans about what's in the matchbox, see our matchbox mystery page.

Compo causes havoc in the local newsagents. Question - was Compo trying to buy Nora a birthday card? Another brain-teaser for fans - can you name this episode?
Can anyone name the poor actress trying her best to sort Compo out?
